These lovely mini tuo have been dry aged in Kunming since 2005. They were produced by a Menghai area tea factory and are composed of broken leaf ripe tea (高碎茶). Don't be confused or put off by the leaf grade, as the quality of brewed tea is excellent, as good as many similarly aged cakes or bricks. This mini tuo can be infused 5 to 7 times (gong fu style) or more without losing much flavor.

An incredibly convenient and tasty aged ripe tea that can be had at an unbeatable price!

Nice depth and medicinal notes,

"Nice depth and medicinal notes, though slight off taste - maybe storage or needs time to acclimatise after shipping"

Got this as bogo deal-ordered 500gr.

"Thats the best ripe puerh i taste so far. I am new to chinese teas and drink shu puerh strong with milk(no judgement please), BUT this is the only tea i am able to drink both with and without milk. Very smooth, and not too much earthy!"

"The 2005 teas is the one that we brewed up to taste when my sister was here visiting and it was very good. We enjoyed it very much."

Pretty solid, flavor goes quickly

"Pretty solid, flavor goes quickly after 5 steeps"

Will F. (3/5)

Intense!

"I brewed this tea Gongfu in a guiwan with steeps at 10 seconds, 20 seconds, etc. The first three steeps -- wow! Extremely intense. Very dark liquid. Taste that woke me up. Starting with the 4th steep, it began to mellow out and get smoother. Next time I have this tea, I want to make sure I'm in the mood. Not for wimps!"

"I am new to tea, I loved all of the ones I trtied so far, its a new relaxing little hobby thats making my life brighter"

The leaves are slightly crumbly

"The leaves are slightly crumbly from age, resulting in the tea needing a *good* sieve in gong fu situations. That being said: Good flavor, with woody undertones and an earthy mellowness that isn’t found in younger teas. I find that when slightly oversteeping, there’s an echo of astringency, and the mouthfeel becomes thick. The resulting liqour has a brothy appearance in general overall. Solid tea."

Best tea ever!

"Yunnan has some of the best tea I’ve drank. I love Yunnan and will continue to to buy from them."

Small but Mighty

"I usually prefer full-size pu-erh cakes, but these mini tuochas really surprised me. Despite their size, the flavor is deep, rich, and beautifully aged — a truly impressive little tea."

Q&A

How can I properly brew these mini’s, so far I’ve attempted multiple methods with gongfu style in a gaiwan however I seem to get the same watered down flavor constantly
100C water, Tea to water ratio should be 1g to 15ml water. These mini tuo are typically 4.5 grams so that means using 65-70ml of water in a 70-80ml gaiwan. Wash 20s, then steep 45s, 60s, 60s, 90s, 120s.
