stupedous jasmine tea
"SPECS The tapered long and curved leaves are a light glistening very light olive color with some slightly darker shaded. The leaves range in length from 0. 875 to 1. 875 inches with a majority of them being 1. 0 to 1. 125 inches. The leave widths are 0. 0625 to 0. 375 of an inch. OVERVIEW This is my favorite Yunnan tea. The aroma and flavor is full of jasmine essence. I drink it multiple times a day using about 1 and a half to two teaspoons hard to measure for sure since the leaves don't actually fit in the teaspoon. It's 0. 1 ounces or 4 grams. I only seep once. It is a long continuous seep. Seeping anymore than that does not have the same flavor. I remove the water on the first boil and pour it in on top of a trapezoidal tea ball that contains leaves soaking it in water for 100 seconds to release caffeine. Then I drain it and put in a stainless steel jug for seeping and drinking. I leave the tea ball in the entire time; I drink the tea and never take it out but add more hot water when needed. Buying tea direct from the Yunnan Sourcing is worth it and cost effective not including the shipping charge. SHIPPING NOTES The first order takes longer to get through customs but after that it goes through unencumbered."

"In still new to exploring good tea but this is delicious. I’ve been infusing it multiple times (3-4, usually) and very cup brings new flavors. I’ve become a bit sensitive to caffeine and this is fine. First cup gives a subtle push, each subsequent cup just tastes good so I can drink it late into the day. Highly recommended!"

A balanced hybrid version of silver needle jasmine
"I prefer my jasmine and white teas to be var. sinensis for the sweetness and lightness, so I was quite surprised to find that this sinensis/assamica hybrid jasmine white tea was very enjoyable. I got a sample from the jasmine lovers sample pack. It has a very slight dry punch to it and it's recognizable as a sinensis/assamica hybrid. But that taste is very light and it adds depth to the sweetness and floral note rather than bulldozing it, and creates a unique, very balanced experience. I think this would be a good evening tea to drink when you want something sophisticated and punchy as a healthy grown up drink."

Great, but. . .
"At this price point, this is a decent tea. However, I expected the white needles to last me more steeps than it did now (after 4th or 5th steep it went downhill). The aroma of the leaves is just beautiful, the tea is mellow and smooth with a strong jasmine presence. The tea started to become rather astringent after a couple or steeps, however, and lost its leaf flavor, leaving only the jasmine scent behind. Overall, not bad, but I am not sure if I will get this one again (astringency and lower no of resteeps), the dragon pearls still have my preference. I must say, the aroma of these silver needles infused with the jasmine brought me back to my childhood as if rice with sugar and milk was cooking on the stove. Perhaps an odd comparison (everyone seems to talk about fruity), but really, to me, it gave of a sweet, sticky rice pudding aroma. And it has good energy, those first steeps made me feel very calm. Steeping details: 90ml gaiwan, wash 10s, 80 degrees C water, steeped according to YS brewing guide for white and green teas."
