Just to let everybody know, there is only 400 grams (not kilograms) produced each year from the last remaining three Da Hong Pao tea bushes in the world. Don't believe any claims that you hear. The scant harvest of the real thing is reserved for bigwigs here in China, not foreigners! Even if you could get it the price would be 10's of thousands of USD or more per 10 grams.

So anyways, this Da Hong Pao falls into the category of an excellent fermented Red Oolong that was created by cloning Original Da Hong Pao. The flavor is strong but smooth. Full of body and flavor. Roasting level is heavy and gives the tea a fruity and sweet taste and aroma! The roasted taste will gradually lessen and transform over months and years, making this a great tea for aging 1-3 years.

**For those who don't like the heavier roasted taste, we recommend storing this sealed for 6-12 months after receiving.

best of the best

"A favorite in our house. This is a daily tea with a smooth finish, smells like ganja when brewing but has a light orange appearance and smoothness like no other. Very consistent flavor and super awesome as a daily tea"

Mouthfeel Your description captures the

"Mouthfeel Your description captures the texture experience well – "substantial, almost chewy texture that coats your mouth" gives readers a clear expectation. Good job mentioning the fruity sweetness balance. Maybe add how long the flavor lingers after swallowing for completeness. Level Excellent points about the seller's honesty! You nail the credibility aspect by highlighting their transparency about cloned vs. original plants. The aging potential mention (1-3 years) shows you understand this tea's serious quality level. Smart observation about "serious tea drinker category. " Service Your praise for truthful marketing hits perfectly. Calling out the lack of "mythology markup" and "fantasy marketing" will help other buyers spot genuine sellers. You've effectively warned readers about common Da Hong Pao scams while praising this seller's approach."

Good purchase

"If you have not tried other yancha, this is not representative. This is a cheap but solid daily drinking "da hong pao" that is great to have around at the price. But do yourself a favor and try some higher end cliff tea to get a better sense of what the genre has to offer."

Keith D. (4/5)
