We are very excited to offer a sun-dried, wild arbor, pure assamica varietal Black tea! It's harvested from 100+ year old tea trees growing naturally on Ku Zhu Mountain! Ku Zhu Mountain is near Wenshan village about 7 kilometers southeast of Jing Gu town in Pu'er prefecture (previously known as Simao).

Sweet, floral, fruity with almost juice-like viscous tea soup and lots of body. Very infusable tea that gives evenly across 7 to 8 rounds, and then gives way to a bit thinner and sweet from round 8 onward. A good choice for near term aging. Will improve in flavor for many years to come!

A premium wild arbor black tea with excellent aging possibilities!

250 grams per cake, 7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong

April 2024 Harvest (only 140 kilograms produced)

Ku Zhu Shan Hong - a go-to tea!

"Ku Zhu Shan Hong did not disappoint! I has become a tea I will keep on hand, definite go to tea! I use 4gr of tea infused in 40ml of pure water. Infusion times are calculated not by modern electric kettle, but by watching the action of the water in the kettle the way the ancient tea masters did. Part of the Art of Tea!"

Amazing black/red tea

"This tea really took me by surprise in the best way. I will definitely be ordering more cakes. . . just hope it stays this affordable. The description is spot on sweet, floral, fruity and juice-like viscous tea."

A very good tea for the price.

"This is an excellent tea considering the modest asking price. Not much I can add to the the product description (which is quite accurate) other than it is quite mellow and lacks any of the faint, slightly sour note that many young assamica tea cakes made from old trees have. It's a moderate compression cake, not too difficult to pry apart. I ordered two cakes and look forward to seeing how the tea matures with aging."
