This little tuo was pressed from a blend of Changning (Baoshan) material harvested in the year 2000!  Aging for 20 years in Guangzhou has transformed this tea into a wonderfully smooth and textured aged pu-erh!  It's so rare nowadays to find 20+ years aged raw pu-erh that's still fairly affordable.  This tea is well-aged, tasty, and affordable.

The quantity is limited!

100 Grams per tuo (5 Tuo per bag.  If you purchase 5 tuo you will get them in the bag)

Pressed in December 2000

** Some wrappers may be bug-bitten with little holes in the paper. There may also be some dust between the wrapper and the cake. Rinse tea once or twice briefly before drinking! If you are squeamish please don't order this tea!

A tea that impresses at second sight

"I ordered a 10g sample of this tea, since it is one of the oldest available on YS. I got two sessions in a small Gaiwan from it. The first session with this tea did not really impress me. I could tell, that it has been stored cleanly, no funky tastes going on, and it definitely had an aged character, but not much more going on. Today I had the second session and this time it has much more to offer! Still very clean storage and aged character, but this time it showed more complexity. It has some smokiness and earthiness to it, but also some sweet notes. The strength of the smokiness and the exact character of the sweet notes varied considerably from steep to steep - sometimes more creamy, almost like caramel, other times a bit more fruity. Basically no bitterness to speak of and only a little hint of astrigency. If I could, I would rate this tea 4. 5 stars. Since the first session did not impress me all that much and the price is already considerable at ~1$/g, I went for 4 stars. If I had enough of it left for a thrid session and it would prove itself worthy again, it would probably get 5 though."

Balance

"Mellow, satisfying, and just a little bit smokey - the energy is equal parts grounding and energizing. Everything has become one. Storage seems very clean to me, even though the wrapper was a bit bug-bitten. The only negative is the very tight compression - my very rarely used strainer comes out for this one. Definitely recommended."
