This is a lovely and special tea. Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong Black tea from Fujian has been stuffed into a fresh King Orange and then cured together.  The black tea has obsorbed alot of the citrus taste and it's both tasty and subtle.  I prefer to break in half and brew the black tea and the orange all together.  If you prefer less citrus taste you can remove the tea from the dried rind and brew separately.

King Orange is a small green orange which originates from Vietnam but is now grown in Southern Yunnan.  It is known in Vietnam as Cam sành.  It is tasty to eat by itself and although rather small and green it's sweet and pungent.

Each little "King Orange" is roughly 12 grams (+/- 2 gram) and comes individually wrapped in hypo-allergenic paper.

Ingredients:  Orange Peel, Black Tea

Please note:  Over time the oils from the peel may form a white frost on the peel.  This is not mold.   We won't take returns or offer refunds for that.  It's a feature not a flaw!

Interesting Novelty That Attracts Curiosity

"With the smell and taste of citrus primary and an almost hard to describe aged tea smell and taste. Whenever I make tea for my tea parties or at work it gets the attention of people with curiosity. Each king orange has at least 3 tea spoons and you could either break it up in portions or break it up and brew the whole orange. More of an interesting novelty and I wouldn't recommend getting it frequently."

Special tea experience at a slightly high price point

"Tasting notes: soft balanced citrus acidity with sweetened black tea, closer to 4* The tea experience is quite distinct compared to other King Orange tea variations, but at this price point this is more of an one-time experience."

The orange flavor is very

"The orange flavor is very subtle."

Good, clean, vibrant

"Very good, clean and vibrant Mandarin flavour with mild energising and tonifying effect Can only do a couple of steeps of decent strength, which is the only reason why it's not five stars"

Balanced, like it was roasted in a mandarin

"This is my first time drinking a tea orange. I cut it in half bc there is around 12 g of tea in it. I kinda regret doing that. One side remained solid. The other side broke up and spilled out on the plate I cut it on. The tea is very balanced like a good roasted tea, but it tastes like it was roasted with orange peels. After a few sips the malt taste of the tea lingers out with a nice clean light citrus aftertaste. A very pleasant tea."

Great Tea

"Very delicious tea, with a pleasant but not overpowering orange taste."

Interesting and complex, but slightly weak

"I've compared this tea to other similar ones cured in king oranges- this is absolutely a lovely tea and one of my dad's favorites, but is slightly lacking in body and depth."

Juliette (4/5)

Love this tea!

"This tea is such a delicious balanced tea. The curing gives it a wonderful orange accent and the black tea is strong but not too strong. This tea always starts my day off right!"

An interesting variation

"This blend is ideal for those who want a change in their tea. However, the taste could be stronger."

Q&A

Hello, this kind of tea looks very interesting! But how should it be brewed? What are the steeping time and temperature, as a whole or broken apart, should this be rinsed first? Thank you very much and best regards!
Typically I prefer to break up the rind and brew a portion of the tea and rind together. Hottest (just off boil) water is the best. Long steeps will give more citrus taste. Typically like to use 7 grams of tea and rind per 100ml brewing device volume.
