Not the same Sweet Potato from earlier years

"First I want to say that I have been buying from this vendor for at LEAST 15 years. I came across this tea early and it has been an automatic reorder since. Friendly, not fussy, rich, sweet as it fades, always good for 3-4 steeps if handled right. I experiment with blending a couple of teas and this was the most helpful “blender” I have encountered. Most attempts fail but I always learn something Spring 2025 is for the first time a disappointment. Pains me to say. I’ve tried my best (well over 25 years experience with teas) to monitor temp, water, vessels, time etc etc. but the best I can do yields one good abnormally strong first steep that has a lively bitter streak and darker overall feel than the past. Burnt sweet potato syrup. Not a bad taste but very different. That’s it. The second steep on the vegetal background overwhelms even a moderate temp, short attempt. Consistently. I have a lot left, and plan to use it sparingly small quantities one shot and let it go after that. I love this company for a number of reasons one of them is what I’m doing right now reading reviews by real people many of them have far more experience and understand the industry a lot better than I do, but we all learn from each other, and I’m doing my part."

"Loved this so much that I got a 500 g bag. It's the size of a baby pillow 😅 No regrets! This is such an easy drinker as a latte. I imagine it would be *fantastic* as a boba base too. When I want to be fancy, I add roasted sweet potato purée and some cream on top of the latte. Deliciousness in a cup. So YAMMY and YUMMY!!! It's one of the best sellers for a reason. Worth your $. "LOVE this sweet potato black tea. Perfect on its own or as latte with some molasses or brown sugar 🤤 The roasted sweet potato aroma and flavour have a very yammy characteristic, like the brown caramel bits in a real roasted sweet potato. So delicious. One of my favourites now!"
