We are proud to offer a Certified Organic "Jia Ji" Ripe Pu-erh Tea from Yunnan.  This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

This "Jia Ji" (Grade 3 sized leaf) ripe pu-erh tea is a relatively small leaf grade, has a very potent cha qi, with a thick tea soup, dark chocolate like bitterness and fruity sweetness.

The tea was harvested from organically cultivated tea pure assamica varietal tea bushes growing at an altitude 1300-1350 meters (4300-4450 feet) on summit of Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City).  The tea is picked and processed into sun-dried mao cha, and then wet piled (wu dui) for 45 days, transforming it into ripe pu-erh tea (熟普洱).

Our Yunnan Sourcing Certified Organic teas are certified organic by EcoCert SA and are certified organic to international standards (EcoCert is IFOAM accredited).**

"I love my gaiwan it feels and performs amazing. I love the tea it taste phenomenal and has a strong tea enrgy."

Lovely pu-erh high

"What stands out for me with the Jia Ji is not the flavor, which is as enjoyable as any good pu-erh, but the cha qi. Ripe pu-erh almost always gives me that calm, flowy, happy, and focused feeling, but for me the Jia Ji takes it up a notch."

My satifying "quick fix" tea

"I love this tea. Simple but fullfilling. My "go to" tea when I don't have a lot of time to sit and do the long sit. I do love that it is an organic tea as well. I have ordered this many many times."

Robust & Clean

"This is an excellent daily drinking loose Pu'erh that brews a robust and clean liquor. The short portions of leaf brew a strong brew quickly, and keep a mild astringency even if over-steeped. Knowing how much care is already put into Yunnan Sourcing Pu'erh, the added organic certification feels like a formality but it points to the incredible integrity of the growing and processing of this tea. I highly recommend it as a daily drinking Pu'erh."

Update on previous review

"This is an update on my earlier review. After having tasted the tea from my most recent order (April 2023), I'm posting an update. My earlier post: I've ordered this tea 4 times. The tea from the first three orders was quite good. It was smooth and rich, and featured some nice flavors. I would rate those earlier orders an enthusiastic 4.5. Unfortunately, the tea that I received in my most recent order (placed in April 2023) was disappointing. The tea was noticeably different from the ones that I received in my previous orders. The tea is noticeably lighter in color, and the steeped tea just doesn't taste the same. I rate the tea from the most recent order a disappointed 2.5 Here is my update: Based on my initial tastings of this batch, I was disappointed but hoped that I would at least get used to it over time. I ordered a large quantity of it to enjoy as a daily tea. Unfortunately, it hasn't grown on me. The taste is flat and overall, it's an unpleasant drinking experience. After drinking this for around a month, I downgrade the current batch in my possession to a 1. I made a small dent in the roughly 5 months' supply that I ordered; there is a lot remaining. As much as I don't like to waste things, I don't think I can drink much more of this. Based on this unfortunate experience, I won't be ordering this particular tea in the future."

"I love this tea. I have bought this in bulk twice now and will do it again. It is my every day tea drinking tea. Rich, earthy yummy taste."

Great

"Everything was fine, the package arrived after 10 days, the quality is great and I only had to pay 19€ additional for the import to the EU to the Austrian Post for an order of approx. 150€ at Yunnansourcing. Perfect."

Licorice

"If you like licorice candies, go for it"

My favorite of the loose leaf ripe Pu'er teas

"This tea delivers a well-rounded taste experience. It has enough character to supply a little bite in the mouth at the end of the sip. Very drinkable through 5 steeps."
