Entirely wild arbor tea from early spring 2018! Tea leaves taken from 60 to 100 years old tea trees growing wild near Da Hu Sai in the county of Mengku) Lincang. Full and stout one leaf to one bud ratio tea leaves. Huang Shan (Remote Mountain) tea has been growing wild for decades and is grown by a close friend of ours (Mr. Duan).  Mr. Duan picks and processes all his tea by hand and never uses chemical pesticides or fertilizers.

Huang Shan tea has a typically Mengku strength and thickness.  It's tea soup is golden yellow and viscous, the aroma is sweet with hints of orchid and mushrooms.  The taste is sweet, astringent and bitter with a savory kind of mouth watering feel and strong cooling effect.

An incredible value pu-erh which is both worthy to drink now or for the long-term.  Clean and pure!

Fruit-bomb

"What a fruit-bomb! Apricots, peaches, some apples in there. The tea also has a nice bitterness if you push it a little bit. Slightly astringent. Complex. Later steeps get more mineral while retaining some of the fruity notes. Strong body-feeling. This tea is a bargain."

Mouth-watering, balanced power

"Liquor is clean and light with a floral aroma. Taste follows, yet there is much more going on inside this tea. I hesitate to call it bitterness or astringency, it is both, but rounded into one balanced term for me - power. A compelling, mouth-watering swell moves through the palate and is very thick. Quickly to the throat, promising hui gan while lingering in a savory/sweet balance in aftertaste. Even minutes following mid-session steeps, a salty taste remains and a glow in the throat. Durability is very good with later session pushes seeing this 'power' unfold into a savory, salty boost with flickers of fruit. Completely agree with Tomas re: value/price - this one is well worth its cost."

As good as 2017!

"The smell is similar to what I remember from the 2017 harvest, notes of compost and conifer forest are the dominant ones. Later on throughout the session, I also get some nutty aromas. The taste of the rinse already is very flavourful and it reminds me of a Yunnan green tea, but with more of a honey note and nicer bitterness. The taste profile is also similar to 2017 vintage. One difference I notice is a stronger sweetness present in the 2018 tea as well as a more upfront honey flavour. It is still very balanced though. The mouthfeel, on top of being thick and creamy, is also quite bubbly. I have a feeling that this I would consider as the best price/quality ratio in a sheng that I have encountered to date, but I could be forgetting about some."
