Our Blue Label production celebrates the tail end of this Year of the Snake.  We selected the highest quality ripe tea fermented from Yong De county spring harvest material.  Unlike most cakes from large producers our Blue Label cake is blended from mostly small leaf grade material with plenty of golden fermented buds.  We have also blended a large percentage of gong ting into this cake.

The tea itself is an aromatic affair, with hints of camphor and molasses.  Although young it delivers a thick and full soup with a nice mouthfeel not unlike a good raw tea.  A high quality tea worthy of aging that is also priced affordably.   Stock up on a tong or two for future years!

357 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 26 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 26 pesticide residues. For a full list of the 26 pesticides we tested for and more information about MRL testing and the EU Food and Safety commission click on this link.

It's uniquely nice.

"This right here is what got me into drinking tea 15 years ago."

So smooth

"Like many people here, I got a sample of this tea in an order a long while ago (probably in 2020, judging by the timestamps on prior reviews). Big regrets today as I see it is sold-out. I'm not one for shou pu'er, I tend to go more for sheng, but I love this tea's sweet, mellow and well-rounded flavour, I wish I'd tasted it earlier so I'd have been able to grab a cake when it was still in stock."

Hands down one of my top 5

"I looooove this tea. I wish I had bought more... if you're here reading this, definitely try the brick, which is still available as of now. This had kind of a mellow feel, where the brick has a happier feel. Taste is a little different, but both were/are amazing. I grabbed two, and so should you! yunnansourcing.com/products/2013-yunnan-sourcing-blue-snake-cha-tou-ripe-pu-erh-tea-brick"

Yep, a delicious tea!

"I received a free sample of this tea with a large order of raw Puer samples. I was blind tasting all of the samples I had received and this one slipped into the mix. I knew it was ripe and that it was something I didn't order and even thought I had tasted this tea before. I actually already have a cake of this tea but I was reminded how good it is: woody, sweet, thick, smooth and balanced. I am going to get another cake for the office - this is a daily drinker for sure!"

Free Sampler, Me like it !

"Okay, so I had this one as a free sampler in my box. I would consider myself a pu erh vet by now, since I have tasted many different Pu Erhs for the last 5 years. Tastes I felt are : earthy, wooden, and complex. For me I have found out this to be the perfect harmony, that any Pu Erh tea has to have. If this harmony is given, you got a well graded Pu Erh What I smell : Intense woodland with that extra spicy smoke fragrant. The second I opened the sampler package, I knew this tea would be a pleasure to drink what I touched : Higher Grade leaves, mostly. Pressed, but not too strongly. 6 Years is a good starter age for beginning to dring a ripe Pu Erh This tea has the quality of a good tea around the price of 25 - 30 € per 100 Gramm. Full recommendation"

Scott knows what he's doing!

"I received this as a sample in my haul. Scott knows full well what he's doing when he includes it in the box. I'll be sure to grab this in my next order. I'm new to pu-erh. I'm echoing the same review as another customer. At first I didn't love it, but as I sipped I liked it more and more until I had to brew myself another cup. It's very easy to drink and reminds me of the tea at Chinese restaurants but much better quality. It's dark without being too dark, bitter without being too bitter, rich without being rich, has that leather slightly fishy aroma like someone else said but not too much and definitely in a good way."

Beginner to Pu-erh

"I received this as a free sample in my first order from this site. I was excited to try this as I felt cautious about ordering a whole cake without ever having tried pu-erh. I can't analyse this tea with the specificity of other reviewers, however I will share my experience none-the-less: Initial aroma: Earthy, very different to black and green tea. Made me think of moist forest floor. Wet leaf aroma: Much like initial aroma but much more intense. I haven't developed my sense of smell to pick it apart more than that. Taste: Very different to what I am used to. At first I would say I disliked this tea, but found it drinkable. I'm not one to waste food or drink, so I continued to steep more infusions and give the tea a chance. I don't know how or why but the tea left a feeling in me that I needed more. I have enjoyed about 5 steeps at the time of reviewing this and I'm not sure I completely enjoy the flavour still. Having said that I love drinking it and I feel like it has left an imprint in my mouth that has changed my appreciation for tea. The feeling in my mouth after drinking this tea sticks around for a long time and it's very pleasant. Thank you Yunnan Sourcing for including this tea with my order! I feel I have started a pu-erh journey."

Delicious tea cake

"I ordered this tea because Scott mentioned it in the youtube video "Can we stump scott" Ep 1. - I love the 2015 Yunnan Sourcing "Yang Luo Han" Ripe Pu-erh cake and needed to order this cake s well (watch the video and you will know why) ;) It is a very delicious tea!"

Fragrant and delicious

"This budheavy tea is not with a thick body, but it is quite fragrant. In the first steepings you will get sweet and bitter molasses, not unlike demerara rum. A little bit of camphor will sneak in at the third steeping. For a thicker body, just take more tea. I took around 6-7 g / 100 ml. Nothing is off, so I found my perfect sipping shu!"

Сравнение с Blue Label 2012

"Этот чай приятно удивил. Богатое послевкусие, яркие орехо-древесные тона во вкусе. В аромате сухофрукты и легкий бальзамический оттенок. Пили в с равнении Blue Label 2012. Уверенно можно сказать - 2013 год нисколько не уступает."
