Autumn tea leaves from 100-200 year old wild arbor tea trees growing near Xi Bang village in Lincang.  An incredibly potent tea that gives a feeling of a autumn harvest Mu Su Cha. Strong mouth-feel (astringent and bitter) with cha qi to match.   This tea was picked in October 2011 and stored as mao cha until May 2012 when it was pressed in Mengku township with traditional stone presses. We decided to use our 2011 wrappers for this cake since the mao cha was purchased at that time.  You'll notice the tea has already aged slightly having spent more than half a year in Lincang in an uncompressed form!

2011 Autumn material, May 18th, 2012 pressing.

** a small portion of the wrappers were incorrectly stamped with the date of May 18th 2011 *

Some stamps are red, whereas others are black.  Same tea!

Push this autumn raw to its limits and it'll drag you into the autumn forest in front of a campfire

"When I first tried out this raw I was not impressed right away. I used about 6 gram per 100ml and it was a very nice tea, but there was just something lacking in every aspect of it. Later I returned to it and I am VERY happy that I did. I am used to drinking more spring raws, so I decided to up my leaf ratio to get more power out of it... and it delivered... When using between 7 and 8 grams this tea suddenly turns into one of the best balanced raws out there. It Is very full and thick in the mouth, with just a little bite and a slight tannic structure at the start which then transforms into an incredibly sweet taste of Nectar/molasses. The Chi that dawns on you after the 3th to 4th infusion is wonderful, it has a real autumn feel in it. You sit there very cozy, suddenly noticing you just want to listen to some layed back music, staring at a wall and contemplating. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy and you slowly get the slightest grin on your face and just feel totally content. After infusion 8 it can keep going for another 4 or so and it will just give you nice antique woods with a sweetwood finish. Highly recommended if you are looking for a cozy middle aged raw. Regards, Bram"

A really nice tea

"I got this as a sample (much to my surprise and appreciation) in my last order. Now I'm thinking I'll need to include some of this in my next order. This tea is roughly 10 years old now and its showing some aged character, while still holding onto some of that young raw perk (in a good way). Its a very clean tea with deep fruity tones (akin to jujube or medijool dates) not at all subtle but nowhere near overpowering. The flavor is well balanced and has some nice complexity, and a noticeable "mushroomy" aroma in the background that's really nice. Teas like this are making me realize I really like autumn teas, maybe more than spring. From the few I've tried they've all been very easy on the stomach, even when empty, and had a fuller thicker and "coating" mouthfeel that many high note spring teas often lack. This is a tea I would gladly sock a cake or two of and certainly enjoy seeing how it ages. Yep, I'll need to pick up some more of this on the next order."
