We are proud to offer a Certified Organic Green Tea from Yunnan. This tea was grown in the area of Simao and was harvested in April.

Silver Strands (银丝) Green Tea is a very fragrant and pungent green tea that can be infused many times. It has the robust characteristics of Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica with a potent aftertaste that lingers in the back of the mouth. The leaves have been dried into extremely thin strands that slowly unravel and expand as they are infused. A delicious green tea!

This is a classic "robust" style Yunnan Green Tea, a 1 leaf to 1 bud plucking style. It's floral, beany, grassy and sweet when brewed carefully. We recommend brewing gong fu style (short steepings at first) using 85C water and 4 grams per 100ml vessel. It can be brewed 6 to 8 times gong fu style, which is a lot for a green tea!

Very unique

"An overall tasty green, however, one thing in particular stands out to me. Have you ever seasoned a steak with a little salt and pepper, then seared it and finished it by baking it in the oven? That is EXACTLY what this smells like, to me. A very prominent peppery aroma, with some meatiness, a hint of something like apple peel, and a moderate astringency. Definitely worth adding to the collection."

"This tea is perfect for both experienced and new green tea drinkers. I'm experienced and like mine a bit stronger, so I brew a good amount of the tea in less water. The flavour is very good and has warm amber tones. My daughter is a beginner and when we brew with fewer leaves, the taste seems sweeter. This tea resteeps very well, so you'll get more bang for your buck. The tea is great as a hot tea or iced. The tea cold steeps very well. I only just received it but will have to order more because it's being drank several times a day due to it being a favourite in my house. I highly recommend this tea whether you are new to green tea or a veteran."
