Bitter-Sweet cocoa brew

"Nice Bulang Shou. The smell of the leaves is like a marzipan covered in thick, dark chocolate. It has the sweet and bitter characteristics of a deep chocolate milk. The tea soup is thick and oily. It has the sweetness of muscovado and the taste of cocoa nibs, dark chocolate and chicory coffee. It's one of those ripe teas that I only brew using porcelain, since the clay would just take away from the nice bitterness. With light brews (5 - 7s), I could make ~18 brews, which were a bit weaker and nuttier, but not bland. Strong (10 - 20s) brews gave 7-9 infusions, but those were thick, bitter and heavenly. This tea meets all my requirements for a good ripe, and it's a normal-sized cake with good value."

Classic thick, round bulang, many steeps!

"Classic Bu Lang ripe puerh flavor profile with thick (THICK) round (ROUND) body, bit of sweetness, slight flavor of youth (but not too green in any way), not too bitter when pushed hard and still manages to keep going beyond 10 steeps. Great price-value proposition as expected from YS!"

Nice experience, not for me

"I received a sample of this Bu Lang ripe puerh cake and I was hoping for a more. . . molasses-like flavour. Liquor is thick and rich but isn't my favorite. Got about 7 good steeps. Scent was nice."
