This ripe cake is pressed from a wet pile batch done entirely from Ban Pen Village area (Bu Lang Mountains of Menghai County) tea leaves harvested in 2021 and wet piled in late 2021!

Ban Pen Village ripe tea has a very potent cha qi, with a thick tea soup, dark chocolate like bitterness and fruity sweetness. Pure Ban Pen ripe tea is relatively rare. It has a unique bitter-sweet character with a fast hui gan and long lasting sweetness. Cha Qi is strong for a ripe tea!

"My spouse will probably divorce me if I admit that this is the best ripe pu-erh i've ever had. Well, we had a good run, sorry honey, but this is my favorite shu. As other reviewers have said, it's got a lot of dark chocolatey notes, smoother than butter, and it's such a pleasure to break into this cake. Some cakes are very lightly packed, and that may be favorable, in my opinion breaking into a tightly-packed cake is part of the pleasure of the experience. You might think the price is a bit high for a cake of this size, but in my opinion it's a steal. What a masterpiece. I'm probably sleeping on the couch tonight, but first I'm gonna toast Bu Lang!"

"This...is potent. Very potent. It tastes like distilled dark chocolate in the best way possible. It has bitterness to it, but it's pleasant and tame. It has a very unique oily sweetness that coats the mouth that sticks around for a good while. I drank this on a full stomach and it still got me a bit tea drunk. If you're looking for something burly and thick with plenty of character, give this a shot!"
