Probably a small Menghai area tea factory produced this cake under the CNNP (zhong cha) label.  Likely not a licensed CNNP production!

Stored in Menghai since 2003, this has aged nicely with some wetter storage notes.  Overall the storage condition was very clean and the cake has a high level of aroma as well as that characteristic Mengsong flower, bitter and astringency!    Can be infused many many times!

Nice example of a Banna stored Mengsong mountain area tea!

400 grams per cake (paper tong wrapper)

** Some wrappers may be bug-bitten with little holes in the paper. There may also be some dust between the wrapper and the cake. Rinse tea once or twice briefly before drinking! If you are squeamish please don't order this tea!

Superb tea

"Extremely well aged, clean taste - steeps shift from woods and incense to mushroom broth."

This tea was an initial

"This tea was an initial challenge for me-I was too aggressive on the first brew and brought out too much minerality. I found a balance of 3g in a 200 ml gaiwan at 205 F. for15 seconds. This 21 year old tea has some fortitude which is just what I was looking for. I can leave the wet leaf in a covered gaiwan overnight and pick up the next day. There is a definite slight camphor note aroma when I sniff the leaves that have been sitting overnight but its not carried over to taste. As you said about the "Calligraphy "tea, "it just makes me feel good drinking it" this tea is interesting, complex, fragrant and induces a pleasant relaxed feeling. Thanks for sourcing it. ."

Quiet churches and stables

"Sour fruits, eucalyptus, leather, resin, autumn leaf piles, tobacco, a hint of brandy. Powerful, thick - strong sensations. Later steeps develop herbal and medicinal qualities. Complex and very enjoyable"

Very nice aged sheng

"Earthy, woody, and tobacco, but it still has a light bitterness and a touch of floral youth. Lingering resin, tobacco goodness in the mouth."

Thomas P. (5/5)

Great taste

"Great floral and fruit notes with no off flavors from storage. Don't have more specific notes from when I had this but I loved it. Great for gongfu or grandpa style where more lemon flavor comes out. No picture of this unfortunately but check out https://www.instagram.com/heichaholiday/ for reviews of more teas."

Thick, sweet... Perfect

"Was worried this tea might be too wet, but it is not at all. Highly aromatic with notes of fruit, sugar and caramel, slight bitterness and astrigency in the taste. The liquid is thick and well balanced. Honeylike and floral flavor with long aftertaste. Perfect to drink now or maybe hold a couple of years more."
