Decent aged Shengpu
"Very clean aged shengpu, no bitterness left, well rounded with a good hui guan. Decent daily drinker, I'd say it's too expensive at ($600/kg) for what it delivers."

Very Special
"This pu-erh has taught me, for the first time, to taste the sweet aftertaste of hui Gan. Very special."

Mushroom shape!
"It seems to me that large Mushroom shape teas are always excellent. Not for the faint of heart but always delightful. Weather it's several of the Xiaguan FT mushrooms or YS smoky Mushroom. I haven't been let down yet. And this one is special as a 20 year old Bulang. It's definitely able to live up to it's name and is aged so nicely without wet, dank taste. It even still feels a bit playful on the palate at moments. Have a couple of these."

I wish these mushrooms grew in my garden.
"Very unique tea. Like a lot of my favorites, I didn't like it too much the first try, on a sample pack. Very peculiar taste, I found. But I was drawned to try the 5 lasting grams very quickly after. And I brewed it better i guess. I completely loved it on the 2nd try allready. It is all about the overall experience. This tea would be very nice, to explain a lot of sheng concepts to new drinkers : " hui gan, cha qi, dry stored aging " this tea reavels itself. It is quite extrordinary on the sensation parts. The " cha qi " part, i wouldnt talk about that in any other tea I tried to date. I would talk about strenght, calm, buzz, energy. But here we can be comfortable to talk about cha qi, i believe when it is there, you know what it means. Not everday tea though ! The odd thing is to me is, there is a ton of tastes and flavours. But none of them are pure tea aromas. We are getting caramel, old wood, incents, smoke, etc... but without the underlying common tea familiar tastes, like peaches or leather for exemple. It is quite, crispy ? Must have been extremely strong when it was new. Very interesting though. An aquired taste for sure. The pricing doesn't lie in the flavour profile, but more into the experience, and sensations. And I believe it is a bargain. Also it steeps forever obviously, I guess."

Delicious
"I really like this tea. I got a sample of this in the "Aged Raw Pu-erh Tea Storage Comparison Sampler". I especially like the Guondong aged teas, but this dry aged tea is fantastic! It has a pleasant smokiness combined with a dried fruit like sweetness that I adore. It is really fun trying these aged Pu-erhs!"

Nice, but not to my taste
"Brothy flavour, drying sensation on the tongue. You can really taste the tannins in this one. Nice warming smell. Someone else mentioned tasting smoke in it, but I didn't pick up on that. Overall, it wasn't quite up my alley, but for those who are more into this array of flavours, it would be a very good choice; it's well-rounded, with no objectionable smells or tastes."

A prime example of Kunming aged sheng
"I have enjoyed my one session with this tea a great deal! It has a rounded profile, well-defined and pungent flavours and a thicker texture than most aged sheng I’ve had. Moreover, the cha qi is super relaxing and strong, but not aggressive in any way – the tea didn’t knock me out, it just induced a very peaceful state of mind. The flavour profile is a mix of forest (earth, pine needle, sweet wood), herbaceous (thyme flowers), fruit (apricot, citrus), and savoury (burnt butter) notes. Interestingly, the aftertaste is warming rather than cooling. It is also sweet and a bit acidic, with a honey note emerging at times but never dominating. The liquor has a full body and a smooth creamy mouthfeel that’s a little bit chalky and numbing."

The Tea I never want to run out of
"I've tried about 50 puerh teas to date, mostly raw and this is the one I never want to run out of. I like everything about it, but mostly the fact that this tea makes me the happiest after I drink it. I don't know how to talk about teas like people talk about wine but this one hits all the notes."

still smoky
"Nice semi-aged tea, feels bulangish (i have few very close teas like this one), still has some smoke (pine) in the smell and taste, which gives high tones to aftertaste and turns into apricots after few first brews. Like tight compression. Not that sweet (more fruity), nor bitter at all. It can perform great with some water, I think."
