This is a unique offering from Xianyang area of Shaanxi.  Fu brick process was supposedly originally first done in Xianyang over 600 years ago!

Jingwei Fu is a tea producer that has continued the tradition of Fu Zhuan in the style of Shaanxi Hei Cha since 2008.

This "1368 Classic" celebrates what is believed to be the first production of Fu brick back in (you guessed it)  the year 1368!

Aged since 2015 in Xianyang, Shaanxi, this fu brick is replete with golden flowers and a soft sweetness, and a viscous wild mushroom-like soup.  This is a very tasty full-bodied tea with the a pleasant cha qi that gives a warming feeling without being over-stimulating.  This tea is also remarkably infusable!

Not the greatest tea, but

"Not the greatest tea, but great value at thus price. Tasting notes: flowery aged shou with a leather aftertaste"

Very strong and earthy taste.

"Very strong and earthy taste. One of my favourite ones!"

Šimon S. (5/5)

Smooth, sweet, fruity

"As other reviewers mentioned it's tightly compressed and takes from effort to pry apart. Once I got some ready for brewing used some hot hot water and was met with mushroom broth and sweet aroma. Sweet with the slightest damp earth aroma and mushroom taste. Is Shaanxi more humid than Hunan? I can taste golden flower sweet and honey taste for the first 6 steeps... later steeps are sweet with less earthy tones. Very interesting tea and one that I look forward to aging and enjoying in the future!"

Rather enjoyable. Densely compressed, smooth

"Rather enjoyable. Densely compressed, smooth flavor."

A very unusual tea

"This tea is different from any other tea I've had before. It's not the best, but the unique taste makes it worth giving a try. First off, you should let this tea air out a bit. I brewed some right of the bag when it arrived (who can wait!), and it tasted mostly like paraffin wax. I made it again two weeks later, and it was actually quite nice. It had a lot more character, and tasted of smoke, ham, and paraffin."
