Small artisan produced Wild Liu Bao grown in a remote part of Wuzhou County in Guangxi Province. Expertly processed and then stored for almost 15 years in Guangxi. This tea has been re-packed 500 grams per bamboo basket. The basket is numbered 803.

The tea itself has some camphor, vanilla, and betel notes. The large leaf with stems makes for an interesting and unique aged Liu Bao experience. Highly recommended for those who want to try something aged and unique.

Roughly 500 grams per basket.

Available in lesser quantities (without the basket)

Overall rating: 4.730769 / 5 from 26 reviews.

Deep, Rich, Complex

"A rainbow of deep, rich, earthy flavors. An experience of connection with the fruits of the earth."

Good, I drank better but

"Good, I drank better but this is quality good"

Liu bao

"Although the age of this tea is 22 years, it has a very distinct liu bao mud flavor. It seems strange to me that aged tea has a very distinct taste of fresh tea. It is suitable when you want to feel a bright liu bao. Sometimes you want that too."

Cognac

"Bought a basket in 2019 and ended up buying another in 2020. First is long gone. Second has maybe 200 grams left. Still drinking great! For me this is like Cognac. It is smooth, slightly buttery, nutty, a bit of pleasant spice, and slightly dry. It even looks like Cognac in the cha hai! Good thing is you will not have a hangover. Just a calm focus. Great stuff, highly recommend!"

That aroma!

"The first steep was mostly earthy- smooth, pleasant, but not much beyond that. Starting with steep 2: Wham! Like Scott describes: vanilla, camphor, maybe a hint of mint and cucumber? Very, very smooth, with a subtle but lingering mouthfeel. That cool, almost mintiness shows up in the mouth as well, particularly as the brew cools a bit. With the best heichas I've gotten from YS I keep coming back to "like shu puer, but better". This is surely too broad a statement, but speaks to the quality of these teas. This is one to try for sure! If you like aged teas at all I can't imagine you'll be disappointed."

My first taste of Liu Bao. Won't be the last.

"There is a lovely scent and a distinctive corn-silk flavor. Corn-silk and moss. Just excellent."

Amazing

"First time trying Liu Bao tea. Not sure what kind of tea it is yet, but to me, it tasted like a premium version of the ripe pu-erh teas I have tried so far. One of my new favorites."

Morning Magic

"I have to admit this is one of my favorite ways to start my day. I work full time and save this for Monday mornings. It makes the rest of the week a little better."

Beautiful

"The first time I've tried it I was in a tasting spree and my notes were "elegant, more delicate than others Liu Bao, a nice tea when you want something not too strong". Today the setup was completely different, more like a tea ceremony where the tea is at the middle of a surrounding silence. The result is completely different. It's weird to say but "when you respect the tea", it gives something back to you. I've found a very enchanting tea, complete, delightful where the time stopped for this session. A beautiful energy which extand after the session where you're more grateful for things surrounding you. We cannot really say this tea in particular is doing that, it's more about how you do it. And if the tea is good as a foundation (and this one is) it can only expand this feeling. -- Brewed in silver, 5.5g for 100ml, 95C, porcelain ribbed YS cups. Chaozhou inspired today, no gongdaobei, just 3 cups and a teapot."
