Man Gang Village "Huang Pian" Ripe Pu-erh Tea
This is a loose leaf ripe pu-erh tea that was fermented from "huang pian" leaves. Huang Pian (黄片) are mature leaves that are typically removed from the finished mao cha before pressing. Huang Pian being more mature and larger leaves are typically quite sweet and pleasant to drink, especially those that come from older tea trees. Huang Pian in ripe form has a subtle hardwood aroma and taste but with an underlying sweetness. Never bitter, and even when young it's hard to over brew this tea!
This is from our Bang Dong grower, whose wet piled ripes have been used in our 2024 Yunnan Sourcing "Return to Dragon Pagoda" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake and also our 2024 Yunnan Sourcing "Magic Teapot" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Cake.
Harvested in Spring 2025, and wet piled in late 2025.
