Gao Shan Village is nestled in the Yi Wu mountains NNE of Yi Wu town and is one of the highest elevation villages in the Yi Wu range.  Gao Shan village is inhabited by both Han and Yao people. Our material is the combined mao cha of two Yao families' tea gardens.  Material is from 150-400 year old tea trees and is entirely Autumn flush of 2011.

Important note: All 5 of the teas from our Autumn Yi Wu series have been hand-stamped with the name of the village in Chinese at the tea factory. However, the person responsible for stamping the wrappers (in most cases) did not use enough ink. Before sending to you we will add an additional stamp with the letters "G S Z" just below the chinese stamp on the front of the cake to help you identify the cakes. If you order a whole tong, there will be no added "G S Z" stamp on the cakes as adding it would require us to break open the bamboo leaf tong.

In total just 40 kilograms produced.

Net Weight: 250 grams per cake
Compression date: October 15th 2011
Harvest time: October 2011
Harvest Area: Gao Shan Zhai, Yi Wu mountain range, Meng La county of Xi Shuang Banna

an interesting case

"Sort of don't understand the price point on this one, the tea seems a bit simple - so why 5 stars? I've been experimenting with Sheng-Shou blends, and this one is the best I've found for that purpose - try this with Scott's 2004 Chen Xiang Brick for example - I haven't had a better sheng-shou blend, so 5 stars it is!"
