This is a raw (not wet piled) Liu Bao tea aged for more than 25 years already!  It's ultra clean tasting and steeps 10+ times while keep flavor.   It's not a graded Liu Bao, meaning it was picked with leaf and buds together and was never separated into different leaf grades.  This means you get the tea in the form that has the most depth and completeness with this tea!

Taste is strong but not overpowering, with notes of tropical hardwood, betel nut, osmanthus, and incense.  There is not even a little bit of mustiness at all!  There is very long lasting mouth feel with this tea and the cha qi strong!

If you are looking for a clean aged Liu Bao or just want to try an excellent 25+ years aged tea then this will surely be a worthwhile choice!

300 Grams per basket (smaller portions available for purchase without the basket)

Please note!  June 4th 2024: This is the same production from 1998, but stored in a different condition compared to the previous stock we sold. This one also comes in 300 gram baskets. deep muscle relaxation

"Old Liubao has a strong relaxing effect and strong tea energy. I have a central paralysis from a childhood trauma - with this tea, I really could fly. I have my blog about bio chemistry but in ukrainian ***chainka.leaflet.***/3mg3cnvnsac22"

Strong warehouse smell and taste,

"Strong warehouse smell and taste, have tried airing out the leaves with little improvement. Not my preferred Liu Bao, maybe an acquired taste."

Great tea

"Was surprised how clean this tea was while still having that familiar aged taste. Good storage! My first 5 star review on YS."

and this 998 Raw Basket

"and this 998 Raw Basket Aged "133" Liu Bao Tea was an instant hit. I love this scent that reminds me of my childhood in the 50s and the visits to my old grandpa's carpentry workshop. He used many old precious woods. It is surprising how this tea tastes so intense but also so round at the same time. Have a look at my tea drinking place at my studio."

"Interesting old flavor."

Good, older, traditional style liubao

"I am prety happy with this tea. Quite similar to the 803, both are long leafed, with some sticks, and nice, aged taste to them. This one is woodier than liubaos usually are, in a pleasant way. Makes me think of old trees in a dark, thick grove. There's some dustiness to the taste, more present on the first sessions after opening the bag than later."

I love that you can't

"I love that you can't really over steep this tea. Of course the flavor is rich and mellow. My new favorite tea"

First time trying Liu Bao

"I decided to get a sample of this out of curiosity as I hadn't tried liu bao before but love ripe puer. People often say the two teas are similar, and I suppose they are in that they are both earthy, but this takes the earthiness up a notch from ripe puer. The aroma of the dried leaves reminded me of a barn or a manured field. That carried through to the aroma of the wet leaf, but with some incense or medicinal smells coming through as well. The flavour is also very earthy/barnyardey with an incense and medicinal flavour that stays in your mouth. Even after swallowing, the flavour is incredibly long lasting in the mouth. In comparison to ripe puer (which is my hei cha reference point), the flavour of this was certainly more nuanced, but it also didn't have the creamy, rich sweetness that good ripe puer often has (that makes it my go to cold weather, comforting tea). Overall, an interesting experience, but I would say this is perhaps a "challenging" genre of tea. I personally find it quite hard to get over the extreme earthy flavours but that is just a matter of opinion."

Great stuff!

"This is some great tasting stuff. The vintage makes this tea taste amazing. It has a little floral incense smell going on. The real shining factor of this tea is it’s huigan and aged aroma in my opinion. Unreal deal for its age. I’m a Liu bao lover and this is up there with the best. Service great as usual!"
