This premium white tea of Simao has been hand-rolled into perfectly symmetrical "earrings." When brewed, the ribbons sink to the bottom of the glass and slowly uncoil. This tea is especially fragrant, has a very pleasant mouth-feel and a strong cha qi that lasts throughout many infusions.

The rolling of these Jade Earrings is an art form that requires a high level of skill and precision. It is a challenging and time-consuming process that yields spectacularly beautiful tea.

"Fantastic tea either in a Gaiwan or brewed western style!"

"Great specialty tea at an appropriate price! Brewing params: 4g/100ml, 90C, 30s → +15s Dry smell: dry wild flowers (from a granny) Heated smell: very sweet & dusty Wet smell after 1 brew: wet hay and vegetal Tasting notes: fragrant, sweet-floral-vegetal, long lasting sweet aftertaste (hui guan). Makes tea drunk very fast."

"Lots of fun watching the rolled up leaves come back to life. Unique flavors too."

Smells like grilled sausage, tastes like heaven.

"Smells like grilled sausage, tastes like heaven. This vegetal white tea, which actually looks and behaves like a green tea is one of my favourite drink in spring and summer. You don't need to put a lot of leaves or brew it for long. The tea soup is hazy (just like a nice wheat beer), the taste is pleasantly astrigent, and gets a bit sweet after the 3rd infusion, overall very well-balanced. You can also feel a grassy undertone. Watch out, strong "cha qi"! Not for the faint-hearted."

Good Tea

"First time I tried to brew 3.5 g of tea in 100 ml of water for gong fu cha; 10 seconds for first brew (tastes good), 15 seconds for second brew (bitter), 20 seconds for third brew (bitter). I think with 3.5 g of this tea in 100 ml is better to make shorter infusions (6 s, 8 s, 10 s) that make tea more enjoyable (or less amount of leafs with longer brewings). I like it!"

Update:

"Wish there was a way to edit my first review, but since I gave my first review 3 stars, this will balance it out by being 5. As the first reviewer indicates, this is a very delicate tea. If you overbrew it, it will taste very bitter. However, use about 30-50% less leaf, and you will get an incredible flavor that's thick and sweet. In my opinion, this tea really lends itself well to "western style" brewing. 3 grams, in an 8 ounce cup, for 3 minutes, produced an incredibly enjoyable experience."

Elegant and tasty

"I used 4 grams in a 250ml cha hai and 85C water and got a lovely sweet and thick tea brew. This is a delicate tea and requires delicate brewing."

Ning W. (5/5)

Super medicine taste.

"First, the feeling this tea produces is really nice. However, the flavor is really astringent. Don't expect this to taste anything like a Silver Needle, it doesn't."
