Take a flight around the Famous Tea Region of the Phoenix Mountains! Taste a curated selection of our premium whole leaf teas and develop an appreciation for the distinct aroma, flavor and mouthfeel of each style and type/variety.

Throughout the Phoenix Mountains outlying Chaozhou city in north eastern Guangdong province, grow the historic tea plants used to create "Dan Cong" oolong teas. With a rich tradition that goes back over 900 years, these teas have truly magnificent aromas and unique flavors that come from volcanic soil. The tea plants from the high elevation can be hundreds of years old, and have highly sought after qualities. For over 10 years we have been sourcing superb Dan Cong oolong teas from family farmers that have been tending these tea trees for generations. This region has many different types of oolong that range from lightly oxidized to heavily oxidized and also have degrees of roasting. We have selected a special lineup of four of our personal favorites from this coveted area. Enjoy!

NIce selection

"I live in China and was lucky enough to go to Chaozhou recently. I ordered this sampler beforehand to get a sense of what the range of Dancong teas are. It was very helpful. As in comments below, I also really loved the Chou Shi Duck Shit. Thanks a lot."

Intro to Dan Cong

"Was looking to explore Dan Cong oolongs and this was a excellent sampler. The Honey Orchid sweet, bit of mango in there. Classic Duck Shit made me think of hot buttered crumpets, yum! The Cou Shi Duck Shit reminded me of some of milky Taiwanese oolong but still with that definite Chinese feel. The Jasmine Aroma definitely lived up to its name. Only disappointment was by the time I recommended this to a friend it was out of stock!! Can see why it's so popular!!"

David E. (5/5)

Loved it!

"Chou Shi Duck Shit was the best. Totally blown away by the creaminess. Beats a top shelf jade Tie Guan Yin anytime! Honey Orchid 2nd fave! Jasmine Zhong Ping 3rd, and Classical Duck Shit 4th. I like green more than roasted I guess. My tea buddy preferred the Classical Duck Shit (more roasted). All excellent tea and a great way to try Dan Cong. Brewing is tricky. Use more leaf and very short steeps. DC gets bitter fast if you not handle it well."
