Special and delicious

"A very wonderful special tea. I can't wait to order more. I highly recommend this one."

Toffee and mellow cigar wrapper notes

"This is the first genuine, Chinese loose leaf tea I have ever had. In my life I have only had the common Western brands: Lipton is big in the South where I live; Twinings has loose leaf, and PG Tips/Yorkshire are the standard British tea bag imports. None of these hold a flame to the one entry level Chinese tea I decided to try. Red tea is familiar to my palate because that is all we drink in Dixie (sweet, iced tea). But we call it black tea. I give this red tea a go and find that real, traditionally grown and oxidized tea is another world entirely. It’s on the same level as smoking a cigar or enjoying wine. The tasting notes are extremely prevalent and rich. This tea does not hide flavor or aroma. First steep was toffee forward with toasted pecan and Connecticut tobacco. I even tried it with milk and sugar. Delectable"

Great Tea

"Strong and flavorful with less caramel than the Gold Jin Jun Mei, (which is one of my favorites). Good caffeine content. Thanks YS."

Short Steeps

"Short steeps, 10s, 15s make the flavor really come out per Scott’s suggestion."

Beautiful, unique, and delicate

"I bought 50g of the 2024 year of this tea, and when done right, it does not disappoint. The leaves are *beautiful*. I love showing them off to people, and the fragrance is delightful as well. The one star off comes in to play with the brewing -- it is quite delicate. I've been brewing gongfu-style, about 1g tea/25ml water. It is VERY easy to over-steep and have it become bitter. I'd suggest using slightly cooler water, but still keeping the first several steeps very short. When you nail it, it's got a natural sweetness and a unique pleasant bitter note. If you go just a little bit long though. . . it becomes very bitter. I'd still recommend it though."

Surprising with boldness

"Dry smell is cocoa and malty. Wet smell is cereally and wheat. The scent during the brew is faintly gingery and herbaceous. Taste is much the same. The liquor color is immediately vibrant and clear on the first steep. Has an unbelievable amount of vibrancy and Hao on the second steep. Mouth remains most after swallowing. The cha qi is nearly immediate and strong"

Just Lovely

"Really delicious. Early steeps have a pleasant bite like a strong ale. Later steeps reveal a lovely sweetness."
