This year's Impression cake is a blend of tea leaves from Spring and Autumn, originating from Mengku, Bang Dong, and Jing Gu tea gardens.  This year we've also blended in some lightly aged mao cha, giving the tea a smooth warm viscous character right from the get go!

The tea has been grown naturally and processed in the traditional method. We blended various teas together to achieve a powerful blend that has strong mouth feeling, cha qi and a balanced sweet, bitter and astringent profile.

In 2012 I created the first impression blend to be an alternative to a Xiaguan or Da Yi 7542, but it has far surpassed those mass market teas in both quality and value!  I also feel strongly that this tea being very strong in aroma, mouthfeel, bitter/astringent, infusability and Cha Qi, makes it a good choice for long-term aging!

Delightful.

"Truly a delightful experience… Tasted like brown rock sugar candy with just a perfect level of tea bitterness. Aftertaste in mouth is glorious. Thank you Yunnan Sourcing. 🙏"

Blown away

"I got a sample for free during my last order. This is my first raw pu'erh so I did not know what to expect. I can only support the reviews of the others as this tea is just phenomenal, I really had a positive physical reaction to the first sip I had of this pu'erh. Absolutely amazing, the aroma is off the charts, so complex, so beautiful. And although I generally don't like bitterness, this is a different type of it - it doesn't linger in your mouth and is very pleasant. I did not know bitterness could be pleasant, but here we are. I am so impressed that I will be buying a whole cake, that is what kind of experience this pu'erh is."

Delightful

"I've had a few sessions using my gaiwan with this cake now and I find that the flavor really opens up after the second steep. Wonderful returning sweetness without being overly astringent. It can definitely get bitter if steeped too long, but, as long as you don't get distracted, I've found the tea to last for at least 10 steeps. Delightful!"

Great Pu-erh

"As always it is great. I do not find on the Market in Czech Republic so high quality Pu-erhs."

"This cake is good,. I like a warm rounded feeling that counters the fresh bitter and astringent leaves used. I think with ages it will become better and the taste will become more complex."

Great service, will purchase from Yunnan again!

"Great service and shipping, and the tea arrived in perfect condition. Beautiful aroma and packaging. We will let it age a little before drinking."

A New Favorite!

"Early steeps reveal the power, astringency, and mouthfeel of this tea. Age mao cha gives it a beautiful light orange hue. Later steeps are where this tea really shines in my opinion. The astringency fades and the beautiful character of the aged and fresher material begin to shine through. The hui gan is superb with a full bodied honey & citrus like sweetness that persists well after the last sip."

Impressions Raw Pu-erh is a

"Impressions Raw Pu-erh is a refreshing tea with a great body feel. It's a little bitter for me, but I enjoyed the more brews the more I made."

amazing value tea

"from the first infusion you get slammed with a velvet coating in the mouth, a fluff feeling on the tongue followed by a tingling sensation. Citrussy, dried flowers, vanilla, a slight hint of tobacco and a lingering citrus afteraste (huigan) that puts a coat on your throat. The aftertaste also has flower scent flavors. A very pleasant experience, as there's no real biting bitterness you'd expect since this tea was only just released. Slightly oily and libricating, with a comforting, calming bodysensation. I can't believe how affordable this tea is, really a steal."
