"Get ready for one seriously incredible Bu Lang experience. Awesome hot or iced. Definitely one of my favorites from Scott."

Superior Bulang Ripe
"I like shou in general, but I love Bulang shou the most. This one does not disappoint! I vaguely remembered some advice on allowing shipped puerh to acclimate for some time to my environment before tasting, but I got excited seeing the huge brick. As soon as weekly obligations were dealt with, I dug right in, breaking off a corner to try in a porcelain gaiwan. So much fun! A mini vacation for the senses! A heavy, dense, substantial tea with complex flavors: walnut, cherry, redwood forest, dark chocolate, minerals, cream, hint of spice, and something reminiscent of pastries. The different characteristics seem to jump out in various combinations with each steep. I imagine after waiting a few more weeks, I'll have an even more harmonious experience--but it has already proven to be a worthwhile purchase with the flavor profile I was looking for. Next time I will try it in the Hei Jin Gang Clay "Xi Shi" Yixing Teapot * 130ml which I purchased for steeping shou."

Classic taste
"This really reminds me of an older Menghai tea factory ripes -- very much minerally (witch i heard if from the mountain water they use), thick, pleasantly sweet. Honestly, this a good ripe. Because i dont drink much ripe, i expect a little bit more sweetness and woodyness from my tea. But for everyday enjoyment - this is just about perfect. If you have the aility to store it for 5-10 years, i expect this to be perfect. Decent price for the quality!"

Fantastic Ripe
"I've been loving Hai Lang Hao ripes lately and this one is with no exception. Starts off sweet after which it goes into a more savory/salty profile in the middle that somewhat reminds me of baked bread. Honestly one of my favorite ripes and you bet I got the brick after trying a sample. I look forward to trying other Hai Lang ripes as I continue to explore some of his other offers on YS. As far as his ripes go, you cant go wrong at $0.24 / gram and I think this is a fantastic deal."

Outstanding Selection
"I am a big fan of Hai Lang Hao and his work with ripe teas and a big fan of Bu Lang Mountain teas - including Yunnang Sourcing "Hui Run" series. I have them all in my library. I go this brick in December on blind faith Hai Lang Hao and Bu Lang Mountain ripe and with a very reasonable price - how could I loose. I let the brick acclimatize for about a month. I have now had a half dozen samplings and this tea continues to impress me. First - there was none of the bitterness reported previously - maybe a function of aging and my water. The tea starts smooth and well belanced. It quickly become rich and creamy with with a wonderful hint of dark chocolate flavor. I did notice this tea brews quicker than most and you will get more renderings. I tried to push the number of renderings and although the color weakens, the flavors stay balanced and smooth. I consider this one of HLH masterpieces. My previous favorite was his 2010 "As you Like" cake of Menghai. This one really shines as a great offering at a great price. I do have one of his 2017 cakes at four times the price and this cake surpases that easily. I have ordered 3 more bricks for my library since this is a must have brick of HLH's work."

Complex and sweet shou!
"I just finished my first tea session of the new year with some 2014 Hai Lang Hao Bu Lang Tribute shou puerh from Yunnan Sourcing. I've had this sample for about a month, plenty of time after shipping and while this was good when I tasted it fresh off the porch it is even better now! It still has the Bu Lang aroma like the Hui Run but now with more sweet cherry to it. The tea soup is very flavorful and changes throughout the session, opening up with bitterness and an almost saccharine sweetness. It very quickly reveals a strong cherry flavor, between dried and fresh, alongside a chocolate which eventual evolved into s nuttiness. Mouthfeel is very oily and cooling. Qi isn't super intense but is definitely there. I usually drink shou for the overall experience as opposed to chasing qi anyway and the qi isn't actually lacking. I always enjoy Hai Lang Hao puerh and this is no exception. The overall brick is an entire kilogram which makes the buy in price higher even though the price per gram is extremely good. This is definitely on my list of stuff to stock up on. I have pictures and more reviews here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BdayhD7lcrw/?taken-by=heichaholiday"

It's Shoutime!
"Bouquet: The aroma is very thick, full bodied and with a dense sweetness. Especially if those leaves are cooled down a bit immediately you're going to discover a licorice-sweetness. Beside this aspect a general dark sweetness of dark chocolate is pleasing the nose with a promising upcoming liquid enjoyment. Another formula within its steaming condition is a thick freshly baked wholegrain bread flair. You can literally taste all the fine cereal and corny ingredients enlightening your scenting buds. Beside that you might also get a hint of red bean paste (used for many Asian sweets - within this fellow) but also the black ones which are mainly used for salty dishes. Taste: The liquor starts smooth creamy thick and sweet with the first sip! The whole composition is just masterfully - a written symphony by knowledge and wisdom. If you drink a lot of Shou you get a feel taste and scent-wise when good stuff is your guest. In my opinion wild or old Arbor is always the ultimate and best choice. Of course plantation can be good but those roots are growing on the surface while those older tree roots are growing deep into the ground getting their nutrients and minerals with a much higher content. And this makes the difference - also the difference you can taste here within this very Shou. Everything within its presentation is bedded on a very thick buttery creamy layer with such a nicely balanced not overpowering confectionary bakery sweetness like gingerbread followed by hints of dark chocolate and red bean paste, slightly notes of baked sweet potatoes further showing aspects of gentle earthy structures combined with Autumn leaves and also a subtle layer of cardboard (in a good way ^_^) - also within the taste you will get a mixture of both red and black beans - especially the black ones might present you an inner picture of something I totally love Jajangmyeon - Korean black bean noodles - but not in an overpowering way. Generally said - this blood red symphony combines so many different aspects from sweet to non-sweet ones but in such a perfect smooth manner where everything is composed, fine tuned and placed in their right amount. Nothing is to much or to less - this recipe is nearly perfect! If you're a starter or an already a massive teahead you're definitely gonna enjoy this one! This Shou will let your expectations grow while waiting for the first sip. It will reward you with a heartwarming feel and such a masterfully composed recipe. And finally it will leave you with a feeling of absolute satisfaction and a longing for another reunion with this dark buddy in the near future.
