This lovely black tea was grown in an untended plantation in the Wu Yi area of Fujian.  First flush of spring tea was plucked from Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong varietal tea bushes正山小种 and then processed in a unique style to produce this unique style of black tea.  The taste is sweet, fruity, floral and vegetal from this greener style (less oxidation) of black tea.  The tea soup is a golden color, but as this tea ages a few months or years the tea soup will get more orange when brewed and the honey/fruit character will be more pronounced as well!

We invite you to indulge in this lovely style of Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong Black tea!

Good Inexpensive Tea

"I received this hongcha as a sample, and I enjoyed the session quite a bit. I packed the gaiwan and used 93 °C water for the early brews. I was surprised by the longevity. The early soup tasted quite sweet, with a hint of vegetal notes. My later brews were done at 97 °C, which skewed quite green and showed almost no sweetness. The qi is one dimensional, but very present and uplifting. This is the kind of tea that soothes both the taste buds and the stomach, while also energizing you for the day. Especially given the low price, you really can’t complain about this tea."
