About Hei Cha: This type of tea is very old, going back into history as one of the original "post-fermented" teas. Here we have tea leaves that are piled up and fermented using different kinds of post production techniques. The result is the characteristic "golden flower" or tiny fungus that creates a rather unique brew of sour-sweet tea. This tea is also aged similar to pu-erh and has become increasingly popular. We entreat you to try this lesser known type of fermented tea!
** Because there is a possibility the golden flowers were inoculated using wheat flour we cannot guarantee this tea is safe for those with Celiac Disease or those that have severe gluten induced allergies **
