The tea leaves are not as big as Yi Wu mountain (proper) large leaf varietal but have a higher level of aroma (香气高) but not lacking in cha qi (茶气). The brewed tea is aromatic, thick and sweet but not entirely lacking in bitterness and astringency. Mang Zhi village tea leaves are dark olive green color when brewed. Careful attention was paid to the processing of this mao cha giving it an even taste and color with little or no black flecks (if the leaves are signed during the kill-green process). This tea comes from wild arbor trees between 200 and 300 years old growing on a sunny south facing slope. When brewing the tea you will notice the tea soup is a bright yellow-gold and clear, the aroma is penetrating and the tea is full in the mouth. The flavor is textured and thick with a strong almost chocolate-like after-taste. This is one of the more smooth and aromatic of the Yi Wu area teas. The brewed leaves are thick and stout with a dark olive-green color, attesting to their wild arbor origin. This tea was compressed in a small tea factory in Yi Wu town where unusually large 40 kilogam stone presses were used. State Protected Forest) is a small area between Yi Wu town and Mengla town in the Yi Wu Mountains at an elevation of 1650 meters that is protected forest and is an animal reserve.  In the early 1990's there was a small village in the forest, but were made to leave by the government when they set up the protected forest resevere there.  As part of the relocation deal the Mengla County government made a deal with local villagers allowing them to pick tea twice a year for 10 days each harvest.  The rest of the year tea cannot be picked.  No roads in or out of this area.  Very biologically diverse with lots of plants and animals, not to mention old tea trees growing naturally.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOur offering is an Autumn Harvest pick, the spring tea of this year was very good but astronomically expensive.  Don't think for a second that this Autumn tea is lacking!  It's very powerful both in taste and cha qi.  There is a deep and complex \"yun wei\" and the tea seems to take on a life of it's own in the mouth and throat.  This is an incredibly unique large leaf style assamica tea that will impress even the most discriminating sheng aficionado! \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis tea was compressed in a small tea factory in Yi Wu town where unusually large 40 kilogam stone presses were used.
